Hey everyone!
I mentioned on Day 4 of my (almost) daily NaNoWriMo blog post that I had an eight hour work training day. It was mostly watching various videos and learning how to do things correctly, however it was also a full eight hours that I was awake. I like to take on a little persona on my little blog where I mostly write about the more positive aspects of my life.
I’d rather not write about the more negative parts of my life, but there are days where I am not at my best. It’s starting to add up recently. Which means that I spent all of Day 5 of NaNoWriMo asleep on my bed. Yes, I definitely didn’t leave my bed for more than ten minutes on Sunday.
I felt numb, neutral, and tired. I didn’t want to get up for anything even for food. I begrudgingly got up for the bathroom to brush my teeth in the morning because I wanted to check off that little box in Habitica (and considered that trek as my exercise routine for the day). I got only about 100 words down on Sunday. Day 5 was not my best day, but I had more hope for Day 6.
The moment I woke up this morning, I was nervous. It was my first day of work. An actual paying job where I had to interact with coworkers and ask for help. I had to psych myself up by applying makeup and blasting a few songs that made my heart jump. It helped for the most part. By the time I actually got to the job and was working, I felt good.
And the day ended. I spent four hours working, and I didn’t feel like I was going to mess up. Although there was definitely a small disaster when a previous worker hadn’t properly stacked items which caused the pallet to collapse later. Another newbie coworker and I were able to get help from a more seasoned coworker in making a stable pallet. After finishing the pallet, the shift was over.
I’m around 700 words for NaNoWriMo today. My aim was 6,000 words, but today was filled with a little too much excitement for me. I might stop there for today and catch up on Friday or Saturday.
