Hey everyone!
Since it is poetry month, I decided that poetry would be appropriate for today’s word. I love poetry, but it’s been a while since I’ve actually read any. I did read The Poet X a few months ago. If you haven’t read the book, I highly recommend it. It’s a series of poems that create a story. I remember reading a similar book when I was younger, but I don’t think I finished it.
The Poet X does inspire me to write my own poetry again. I know that I already wrote a few poems for the month, however I want to be better at writing something I love. I’ll have to read more poetry to get better at it too.
But here are a few poems that I love in no particular order.
- Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
- What the Stars Meant by John Koethe
- Magic Stone by Clayton
- To Love as Aswang by Barbara Jane Reyes

I’m happy to have made my way here today to find your blog and this post. I’m a poetry lover as well. I haven’t heard about The Poet X, but have now added it to my to-read list – thanks! I’d be hard pressed to choose a favorite poem, or even several. But I did the like the selection you chose (you’re links are a bit wonky, but clear enough to follow). Hope you’ve been enjoying National Poetry Month, and I encourage you to keep writing poetry.
