Hey guys!
Since getting my eyebrows waxed for the first time, I’ve been trying to figure out how to fill them in. I found a lot of helpful videos, but I wasn’t finding the video that made me want my eyebrows to that kind of amazing. Then I found Wayne Goss’ video about eyebrows. I’ve been subscribed to him for years on one of my other channels, however I wasn’t keeping up with him as much as I used to. I watched the video thinking that I would find something new and cool. I wasn’t disappointed.
The Instagram eyebrows are ones that I see everywhere. My cousins even do it. They do look amazing in photos, but in real life, they make a full face of makeup overwhelming. From Goss’ video, I learned that the ‘faded eyebrow’ originated in drag shows. Therefore, when someone does their makeup full out, they are straddling drag queen territory. I laughed at out when I found that out since some of my family do this makeup look a lot. They did remind me of something, but I couldn’t put my finger on what. I definitely agree with Goss’ view that if you’re going for a strong eyebrow game, to just keep everything else simple.
Now, I’m not saying that everyone should stop doing the ‘faded eyebow’. If you want to do a full face of makeup, brows and everything, go ahead! I’m not going to stop you. Since I’m not into having a strong eyebrow game, I tend to just focus on my eye makeup. It’s so much easier for me to just swipe on some eyeshadow and go. Although I’d like to have a nice eyebrow game, having natural eyebrows is easier than spending thirty minutes on doing my eyebrows. I swear I’d end up spending an hour trying to get my eyebrows the same shape, so who am I to judge if you want to do the ‘faded eyebrow’?
