Daily, Weekly, & Monthly Self Care Practices – My Self Care Routine for 2019

Hey everyone!

Since self care is my theme of the year, I thought it would be appropriate for me to share self care tips. Or at least, my current routine and more affordable ideas on how to treat yourself. My self care routine involves a large amount of steps and products. I usually practice the more physical steps once a week. There are some daily self care routines that I try to implement if not every day, then every other day. If you celebrated Valentine’s Day yesterday, then unwinding with some self care is a must.

Daily self care

  • Drink at least 3 – 5 cups of water a day
  • Forgive myself for any mistakes I make as I go along my day
  • Morning routine
  • Finish one To Do
  • Try to sleep at a reasonable time

Daily self care can be tough if you’re just starting out. I like to start with small steps like having a consistent morning routine that includes skincare, makeup, and breakfast. The rest of the list is self explanatory, but forgiving myself for any mistakes I make in a day is a new one for me. I tend to agonize over my mistakes for long periods of time. This step will teach me that it’s okay to mess up.

Weekly self care

  • Feet care – Soak my feet in Epsom salt
  • Body care – Scrub, Exfoliate, Shave
  • Hair care – Hair mask
  • Face care – Face mask

Weekly self care is more focused on the body. I work in retail which is hard on the feet. I try to soak my feet while I’m taking a bath to knock out a step or two. I usually do this routine weekly so my body can “recharge” between sessions. Too much exfoliating can actually damage your skin.

Monthly self care

  • Look at my overall mood for the month
  • Recognize what’s not working & try something new for next month

My mood tends to fluctuate every day. I use the Pacific app to keep track of what I did each day and my mood. I’m trying to use more of the app’s features each time I log in. Once a month I like to try something new. In January, I did a lot of watercolor which was fun. I learned that I needed to be more patient so February is more about being in the moment and focusing on one thing at a time.
