Hey guys!
Valentine’s day is almost here! Although I’m excited for all the candy that’s going to go on sale after the holiday, having to watch couples be all lovey dovey can really put a damper on things. It’s like all your couple friends decided to rub it into your face that all you have to keep you warm at night is a heated blanket. And a huge body pillow.
But of course, that’s not what’s happening. It’s all in your mind. Everyone wants to have a special someone deep deep down. It just takes time for people to find that person. So here’s how to handle single awareness day!
SKIP THE CHICK FLICKS
Although I dislike the use of the term, chick flicks, they definitely describe the kind of movies that are full of romance, comedy, and happy endings. They’ll just remind you that you don’t have anyone on valentines day to cuddle with. Instead, watch your favorite movie even if it’s a horror flick because let’s face it, there’s only a certain amount of romance a person can take in a day. A day full of romance is not everyone’s cup of tea.
HAVE ME TIME
Valentine’s day is the perfect day to have me time. It’s not nicknamed “Single Awareness Day” for nothing. While everyone is doing couple stuff, you can relax with a book, have a facial, or take a nap. Whatever you like because while couples are taking over restaurants and movie theaters, you can take the time to get a pedicure, a massage, or even do some LARPing(live action role play) if that’s your thing. It’s the perfect opportunity to cruise the town alone finding random things to do or stay at home doing whatever you want.
ADOPT A PET
If you really are lonely, as in whenever-i-get-home-I-feel-like-I’m-the-only-one-without-a-bae type of alone, adopt a pet. Maybe you just want to cuddle, but not with someone else. Not only will you get a cuddly companion, you’ll make an animal happy. There’s a lot of animals in shelters that need a good home. Maybe they’ll find one in yours.
That’s it for today! What do you do on valentine’s day? Thanks for reading!
