Hey everyone!
It’s the middle of NaNoWriMo, and I am losing steam. I do love to look at my NaNoMon to check my word count though. My Eevee has evolved into a Flareon, and although they’re cute, I was hoping for an Espeon. (UPDATE: Apparently the Eevees circle through each Eeveelution when you hit certain word counts.) Despite being far ahead in my word count, I’m losing the will to put my ideas onto the screen.
I love my idea, my characters, my plot, but sometimes you get tired of reading it over and over again. Sometimes I can’t type fast enough for my thoughts to get onto the screen. I know I could try dictation, but I talk too fast and might mess up. At this point, I knew I needed a break. Not a break from writing per se, but something that will perk me up to continue writing. If I stop writing for one day, I know that I’ll end up not writing for the rest of the month.
So I headed to The Body Shop at my local mall. I haven’t done a full Body Shop Haul since around March where I purchased my first every products from them. I went into the store to buy a Vitamin E toner to replace mine, but came out with a lot more items than I was expecting.
I first picked up two brushes. The face mask applying brush is useful for those who have a large amount of masks and don’t want to keep using your fingers. I found that using a brush to apply my masks have significantly helped in controlling how much product I put on and using my masks regularly. I needed a fan brush because I wanted to see how that would affect the application of my highlighters. The Body Shop’s fan brush is soft, easy to use, and the perfect length for me. My highlighter seems to be more even and blends in a lot better than what I was doing before.
The sales associate recommended the CC cream to create a brightening affect for under eye bags and a subtle highlight. The peach glow tone suited my skin color well, and it has definitely made my skin look brighter. She also demonstrated the new English Rose Facial Mask for me. Since it was a new product, and I wanted to treat myself, I decided to take a chance with it. I’ve seen a large improvement with my skin when I use this. My acne has started to diminish and my skin has never felt this good in a while.
I picked up another Highlighting Dome in 03. I liked the one I have, but I feel like it’s a little too light on my skin tone. The pink undertones of this one is a lot more noticeable on me. I try to use this with my fan brush, but I think it works better with a large wet brush.
The last item is the biggest one. Instead of buying a toner, I bought the three product Skincare Edition Holiday Gift Set. It was $30 so I had gotten an item for free. The toner seems to have a new look that makes it look very aesthetically pleasing to me. I got a large cleanser and a 48 hour moisturizer included with the set.
My love for The Body Shop is growing with each product they create. I might try their Spa of the World section the next time I browse around.
