LIFE HAPPENS #61

Hey everyone!

This week has been a challenge for me. Not only have I attempted to write about 2,000 words a day instead of 1,666 words for NaNoWriMo, I have two essay due, a math test, and a midterm this month. It’s like everything important happens in November. I wonder why?

My current NaNoWriMo project is going better than I expected. There’s a definite plot and characters who are taking control of their lives and steering the novel to where they want to go. I only have a few problems. One of them is naming the main character. Since I write in first person point of view, the main character is stubbornly refusing to name herself. I just decided to let her do what she wants and name her later once she decides on a name.

The second problem is that I have a short story assignment due on the tenth, but I have dedicated all my energy in writing about my novel. So I used today to write out a small scene that would happen later in the story that can stand alone. It’s suppose to be a short story with about five to twenty-two pages. I doubt it’s going to be shorter than twenty pages since my teacher wants it to be double spaced for easy reading. Hopefully I’ll be able to edit it before the due date.

Those two problems are honestly the most exciting events I’ve had this week. I’ve been holing myself up in my room in a desperate attempt to keeping writing. I may have also neglected a bit of my homework so after writing about one hundred more words, I’ll be working on that the whole night.

What have you been up to this week?

Thanks for reading!
