Hey everyone!
I found today’s word when I was looking up words for the letter D. I think it was the word of the day. Hamartia means a fatal flaw that leads to the downfall of a tragic heroine or hero.
It captured my attention since I love reading angsty fics. Although I do love a bittersweet ending, the idea of characters suffering because of something they could’ve prevented is a treat to me. I was going to write a short story about a tragic heroine, but a poem seemed more appropriate for it. It was written in about five minutes and not revised because I like to live the wild life.
Hamartia
Born to be
the villain
in your own story.
They stole your destiny
with sharp smiles
and honey coated words.
Injustice
was your enemy.
But they whispered-
“She isn’t who
she says she is.”
“She was always
against me.”
“She said-“
Whispered lies
that gained momentum.
Now
The heroine
has become
the villain.
Now
no one
will get
their happy ending.
