Hey everyone!
Today’s word was difficult to choose. I decided on esthetician because it’s something that interests me. An esthetician is someone who performs beatification services on skin. They perform cosmetic treatments so they’re not a doctor unless they’re a dermatologist or something similar.
I’ve been interested in skincare since I was in elementary school. When I got my first pimple, I didn’t understand what the big deal was. And oh boy, when people started being weird about the acne.
I tried a lot of products. A lot. I didn’t do any research about them online because the internet was still a new place and I had more important things site to be on. Like Gaia Online.
But now that I’m older and (kind of) smarter, I have learned a lot more about skincare and my acne is not as bad like when I was younger. It’s because of years of figuring out ingredients help me and what don’t. It’s one reason why I’m interested in becoming an esthetician.
I don’t want to become a full dermatologist because I’ve learned that many of them just prescribe the same things to people who need a more catered routine. There are a lot of dermatologists who aren’t up to date with current skincare trends which is important as people like trying new items and not all ingredients are treated equal.
I think becoming an esthetician would be good for me to try out. Even if I don’t end up being an esthetician for years, I think it would be good path to figuring out what my “forever job” would be.
